It’s finally October!

It’s October and you know what that means, HALLOWEEN! Many people celebrate the typical going trick-or-treating on Halloween night, but there are also many other things you can do to celebrate Halloween. Here are a few suggestions:

  1. Traditional Trick-or-Treating: There will be a Trunk-or-treat held at the Houlka town square at 6:30  on October 31st. If the weather turns gloomy and damp, the trunk-or-treat will be move to the Houlka First Baptist church gym.
  2. Pumpkin Patch Fun: Who doesn’t like spending a cool, Fall day at a pumpkin patch? Wise Family Farms has a pumpkin patch open to the public every year. It is located at 291 Shady Grove Rd in Pontotoc, MS. Many gather far and wide to ride the old tractor driven trailers to the patch to pick out pumpkins with their family. The Farm also has a small petting zoo, and tons of play area for children! Watch out for the slide, it’s a little bumpy!
  3. Haunted Houses: When you hear the word Halloween, you automatically think of scary, haunted houses. If you are the type of person who likes to get scared, you definitely need to visit the Haunted Slaughter House located in Pontotoc, MS. Many stories can be heard of different people going to the slaughter House. The words, ” It’s the scariest thing I have ever been in!” are the most common.
  4. Scary Movie Marathon: Some people prefer to engage in Halloween activities that do not involve being publicly scared to the point of insanity. Many people like to veg out in front of their TV eating Halloween candy and binge watch scary Halloween movies. Not specifically of the Myers sort, but any kind in general.
  5. Yard Rolling: Those who are quick on their feet sometimes prefer to use their money to buy toilet paper to put on someone else’s house. All the while trying to sneak around without getting caught. Scary, I know. How does one decide which house to roll? Usually the victim is someone’s least favorite person, or a close friend who needs a good laugh… and some extra toilet paper!

So, my fellow readers, have you decided what you will be doing this Halloween?

Are YOU ready for a good scare?
